Demand Planning Manager

The primary mission of this role is to be accountable and responsible for monitoring and initiating actions to ensure adequate raw material and finished goods are available at all BEA Inc warehouse locations to satisfy customer demand. This includes tracking goods through the value stream and adapting to priority shifts based on customer demand. The role will be responsible for continuous improvement of our inventory monitoring system and for developing policy, procedures, and best practices for managing BEA Inc. materials in an expanding environment.Planning activities will include developing and maintaining MRP and inventory planning systems to provide visibility into the BEA Inc supply chain for the purpose of accurate lead times and to identify bottlenecks. The role will operate as an Ideal Team Player and work cross-functionally and globally to solve inventory availability and new product launch opportunities.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage the BEA Inc. supply chain to meet internal and external customer demand while achieving global financial inventory KPIs
  • Forecast and manage customer needs, which will involve:
  • Predicting demand based on historic, current and projected sales
  • Maintaining product rolling forecasts
  • Communicating with Sales and Customer Service on lead times and delivery date changes
  • Provide scheduling guidance to production by communicating current customer needs and forecasted product demand changes
  • Minimizing excess and obsolete inventory, mitigating stock outs and supply chain disruptions
  • Inventory forecasting, using historic information and Sales projections
  • Inventory reduction strategies
  • Manage inventory at off-site locations (including but not limited to 3rd party warehouse, VMI locations)
  • Analyze the need to expedite or delay requests to vendors and ensure the execution of these to balance inventory load appropriately through the supply chain
  • Assist with maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics ERP (including but not limited to MRP data, planning data) and develop standard work to ensure accurate and complete data is available in the system.
  • Work with global counterparts to balance the needs of all business units and proactively solve supply constraints and/or overages.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement CAPA for any supply chain failures
  • Drive regular continuous improvement activities utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and/or other continuous improvement methodology
  • Collaborate with OPS team in planning and execution of physical inventory counting events. Travel to VMI sites as needed (<5% Travel)
  • Support special projects related to operations


Qualifications: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.


Bachelor s Degree in Operations, Supply Chain or related field

7+ years of Inventory Control, Production Planning, Supply Planning and/or Production Control

Proven use of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodology to drive positive change

Proven ability to develop actionable reports on inventory values, capacity, and product availability

Ability to operate strategically as well as to deeply analyze large data sets and draw conclusions

Expert level proficiency with an ERP System (Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP or other)

Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office Products

Strong problem solving and reasoning skills

Well-developed data mining and manipulation skills

The position requires flexibility, adaptability, and the capability to work within an environment of shifting priorities to meet business needs

Experience maintaining a positive and productive mindset within high-pressure and time-sensitive supply chain situations

Professional communication skills and experience with global customers and colleagues presenting and collaborating with all levels of an organization (Front Line Worker to Executive) including:

Proven successful cross-functional communication and project execution

Proven problem-solving experience in a group atmosphere across multiple departments

Experience navigating complex professional environments in a highly matrixed organization to achieve goals
