Assistant Branch Manager


Job Details

Purpose

Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining member services. This position has various responsibilities, including but not limited to overseeing branch schedules, maintaining negative accounts, budgets, and staff development. The assistant branch manager directs the activities in the branch manager's absence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and assist members' needs
  • Quote loan values, payment calculations, interest rates, and terms
  • Quote new and used auto values, credit life and disability insurance cost, GAP premiums, extended warranty cost, and loan-associated fees
  • Take and evaluate loan requests by members
  • Process and disburse loan funds if approved
  • File necessary paperwork to exact vehicle/mortgage liens
  • Make sure loans are being submitted for QC
  • Quote loan payoffs/ attempt to recover loans
  • Quote savings product rates
  • Open new savings, checking, and certificate accounts for members
  • Submit new and changed payroll deduction and net pay deposit request
  • Answer member questions regarding their accounts or our policies/procedures
  • Process and verify wires
  • Cross-sell products and services
  • Provide backup staff support
  • Assist members with IRA needs
  • Track mortgage/auto lien filings
  • Maintain Quality Control of new accounts and loans
  • Provide notary service
  • Image documents into efichency when necessary
  • Market potential membership
  • Assist in ensuring the branch is adequately staffed
  • Provide staff backup
  • Assist in marketing new SEGs and maintaining existing SEGs
  • Maintain electronic sign
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings alongside the branch manager
  • Print and review financials
  • Maintain a negative account report
  • Plans daily goals assigns daily assignments, and member service standards
  • Assist in monitoring branch reports
  • Trains staff and assist in a performance review
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities

  • Previous banking or credit union experience required
  • Excellent member service skills
  • Mathematical skill
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong computer, telephone, calculator, and other office machine knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make sound decisions
  • Familiar with regulations, policies, and procedures

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary sitting position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, fax, etc. Must be able to communicate well with others. Occasional lifting of 10+ lbs. Most work is completed in an office environment. You'll need to walk around the branch and address staff.

Travel

  • You'll need limited travel, if any.
