A great UHY client is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant - Consultant join their team. The ideal candidate will have Fixed Assets and Reconciliation experience.


The Fixed Assets Accountant - Consultant is a client contract position. This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite.


Fixed Assets Accountant Key Responsibilities:

  • Fixed Assets Management:
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals accurately and timely in the accounting system.
  • Maintain a comprehensive fixed asset register, including details such as cost, depreciation, useful life, and location.
  • Conduct periodic physical asset counts to verify the existence and condition of fixed assets.
  • Depreciation Calculation:
  • Calculate and record monthly depreciation expenses using appropriate depreciation methods.
  • Review and adjust depreciation schedules as necessary to reflect changes in asset values or useful lives.
  • Reconciliation:
  • Perform regular reconciliations between the fixed asset register, general ledger, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Procurement and Operations, to ensure all fixed assets are properly accounted for and recorded.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare and distribute reports on fixed asset activity, including additions, disposals, and depreciation, to management on a periodic basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules related to fixed assets.
  • Compliance:
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and ensure fixed asset accounting practices comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations related to fixed assets.


Fixed Assets Accountant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting or related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly related to fixed assets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
