Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply/demand framework of energy and agricultural commodities, with a focus on ethanol.
- Communicate with commercial team and partner plants.
- Automate and streamline daily/weekly reporting.
- Provide and present ad hoc reports for corporate leadership.
- Lead fundamental analysis effort to develop/maintain models for all key supply & demand inputs.
- Direct commercial team with price analysis/modeling.
- Identify trade opportunities & present ideas to commercial team.
- Prepare company's market outlook and communicate to alliance partners.
- Track and forecast global product flow.
- Summarize changes in domestic and global legislation.
- Lead the company's research and market intelligence.
- Direct the data science team on the development of commercial projects.
- Negotiate and oversee data provider contracts.
- Requires 20% of domestic and international travel.
Requirements
Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Statistics, International Management, or in a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Research Analyst, Commodities Analyst, Market Intelligence Analyst or in a related role.
Skills:- Seasoned statistical modeling and data expertise (and related data tools), especially applied to agricultural and Energy markets;
- Knowledge of global ethanol business dynamics, flows, legislation, and related commodity markets, with emphasis on Brazil and US markets;
- Commodity experience, direct focus on Energy, refined products, ethanol, and their feedstocks;
- COMEX STAT system for the Bureau of Foreign Trade;
- Other Brazilian data sets, such as MDIC, UNICA, and SECEX; and
- The Bloomberg terminal system.
