**Description**

Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts on beautiful Captiva Island is looking to hire Front Desk Agents. Previous experience is required ( 1 year). Health, dental benefits available, paid tolls, reduced pricing on hotel rooms and food and beverage. Beginning pay rate is $16 per hour plus many incentives.

**JOB SUMMARY:**

To professionally greet, accommodate, register and check out all Resort guests and to assure their stay is a positive experience.

**Requirements**

1. Greets, registers and checks out all guests of the Resort in an enthusiastic, courteous, efficient manner.

2. Uses hotels Property Management System computer effectively to verify reservations, determine unit availability, determine housekeeping status, produce and understand daily reports, interrupt and be able to describe guest accounts including the settlement of check out statements, etc.

3. Able to read, comprehend and utilize all reports generated by the front office or other resort departments.

4. Responsible for cash bank issued by the resort accounting department. Takes total responsibility for all shortages of overages of cash that is handled on a scheduled shift. Calculate and do daily shift drops

5. Assures that the form of payment indicated by the guest is valid and adequate.

6. Maintains confidentiality of guest records.

7. Provides courteous and efficient guest services to all inquiries, request and complaints.

8. Operates resort switchboard answering all telephone calls courteously and efficiently, using proper telephone etiquette.

9. Is knowledgeable of pertinent resort and area information and their services and is willing to inform guests at every opportunity.

10. Maintains an enthusiastic, pleasing and helpful attitude toward guests, visitors and fellow co-workers.

11. Presents a clean professional image. Always well-groomed and neatly dressed in prescribed uniform.

12. Attends all required meetings.

13. Assures front desk area is kept clean and organized at all times.

14. Functions as sales person and makes reservations for same day arrivals and the future in person, by telephone and fax. Functions as sales person in describing and encouraging the use of resort revenue centers.

15. Functions as dispatcher in distributing messages to housekeeping and or maintenance regarding guest requests and or needs.

16. Posts all room and miscellaneous charges related to transactions occurring in departments not operating Point Of Sale (POS) terminals. Posts all charges when POS system is down.

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:**

Must be able to read, write and converse in English.

Must be courteous and socially appropriate at all times.

Bilingual ability is desirable, but not necessary.

Must have basic computer knowledge necessary for data entry and have the manual dexterity to operate the computer keyboard, a calculator, a telephone and any other office equipment in an efficient and timely manner.

. Must be flexible and able to work over time when needed

Must have hearing ability to hear normal speaking tone conversations.

Must be able to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.

Must be able to work under pressure and in stressful situations.

Must be able to manage anger/fear/hostility/violence appropriately.

Must be able to work in small areas that may be confined/crowded.

Strong guest service skills; possession of the ability to work well with the public, coworkers, supervisors, etc. while displaying a consistent guest/customer service oriented attitude. Must have a clear voice and pleasant professional telephone manner.
