Job Summary

Substitute Teachers are requested for a wide variety of absences for Certificated Teaching positions. Substitute teachers have the same professional responsibilities as do regular classroom teachers: complete instructional objectives, maintain good order, and desirable working conditions in the classroom.

Photocopy of transcript reflecting degree earned (applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university)

Photocopy of passing results from an acceptable Basic Skills Exam (i.e. CBEST or a comparable exam if from out of state). Check the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing website: ctc.ca.gov OR submit verification from your college or university that you met the equivalent through course work.

Photocopy of teaching credential (if applicable)

Official transcripts, Basic Skills test scores (or comparable exam or course work), DOJ livescan and TB clearance will be required before employment can be approved.

Comments and Other Information

Qualified applicants will be invited by mail to attend a Substitute Teacher Orientation. Substitute Teacher Orientations are held approximately every six weeks and attendance is required. After attending the Certificated Substitute Orientation and completing employment paperwork, you will schedule an appointment to meet with the HR Certificated Analyst.
