**Description**

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Meets or exceeds pre-established goals for gross margin and sales dollars

* Generates new accounts.

* Promotes slow moving products.

* Prepares invoices with proper prices, codes and abbreviations.

- Provides excellent customer service.

* Obtain and document customers' product specifications to assure expectations are met.

* Works with each account to determine convenience of calls and delivery times

* Provides new product/market information to each customer

* Maintains thorough account information and updates account profiles as needed.

- Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.

- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number o contacts made.

- Prepare presentations of company products and services to current and potential customers.

- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to company management.

- Ensure customer satisfaction and good client relationships.

- Negotiate and close sales.

- Identify sales prospects and contact them and other accounts as assigned.

- Reports customer update and other pertinent information to Astoria GM on a weekly basis.

- Follow up on new leads, provide feedback to GM and Sales Manager.

- Follows all company safety policies and procedures.

- Responds to change productively and handles other duties as required.

- Position requires one to two days a week on the road prospecting and visiting current customers.

SKILLS:

This position requires an individual with strong negotiation and organizational skills, and excellent customer relations skills. Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Must have knowledge of fisheries of the Pacific, Gulf, Atlantic, and various countries producing premium fish. Must be able to prioritize tasks, handle constant interruption from telephone and staff, and remain flexible to meet changing priorities on a daily basis. Requires maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* BA in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of three (3) years sales experience in food related industry required. Seafood experience helpful

* Possession of a valid Sate Drivers license for travel to customers.

*Finger Dexterity*: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

*Talking*: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. Over 85% of time spent on phone.

*Average Hearing*: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information in person and over the phone.

*Repetitive Motions:* Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

*Average Visual Abilities*: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

*Physical Strength*: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally when setting up for food shows.

*Taste:* Necessary when trying new products.

**Mental Activities and Requirements of this Position**

*Reasoning Ability:*Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed involved instructions and to deal with problems involving multiple variables

*Mathematics Ability*: Ability to perform basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing four digit numbers; to perform the complex arithmetic operations with money; to perform operations with units such as inch, foot, and yard; ounce and pound.

*Language Ability*: Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.
