Senior Accountant
FLSA Status: Exempt
Starting Range: $55,341-$70,000 per year
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Supports all general ledger accounting functions of the agency: including management of grants and contracts, financial reporting, and budget monitoring.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintains agency and foundation general ledgers, cash disbursements and receipts.
* Responsible for monthly financial reporting.
* Assists with expense/budget monitoring for multiple funding sources.
* Responsible for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
* Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports by funding sources (e.g. NYSOMH, ECDMH, NYSOASAS, ECDSS, HUD, etc.).
* Assists with the preparation and completion of the annual audit and CFR.
* Maintains all necessary internal control and other standard accounting practices.
* Analyzes data on a monthly basis.
* Completes all trainings required by the agency.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or financial management plus a minimum of two years experience in accounting.
* Knowledge of and experience using computerized accounting and data management systems.
* Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices
* Knowledge of financial management and controls.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to operate efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment.
* Ability to maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders in the agency.
* Excellent communication skills.
