Job Details

Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is seeking a System Administrator who wants an exciting work atmosphere and to be a part of a team dedicated to exceptional service.

The System Administrator's primary purpose is to support and maintain all technology equipment, networks, and assets, which includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all corporate hardware, networks and equipment while ensuring its optimal performance. This position also troubleshoots problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provides end user training and assistance where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers enterprise server infrastructure, both physical and virtual. Installs, configures, monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots hardware and software components across all platforms to maximize uptime, ensure greatest possible cybersecurity posture, and overall system performance.
  • Manages enterprise-wide cybersecurity infrastructure including all hardware and software components. Installs, configures, monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots vulnerability scanning, data backup and recovery, firewalls, IDS/IPS, log monitoring, VPN, data encryption, email protection, and antivirus technologies in the protection of Association cyber assets.
  • Configures system-wide network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN controllers, access points and other networking devices that support the Association's business functions. Monitors, troubleshoots, and performs regular maintenance including operating system and firmware updates as well as configuration changes to maximize uptime, cybersecurity defenses and network efficiency.
  • Assists in the administration of communications networks, devices, systems, and software. Administers Association's phone system, including programming, configuring end user devices, and generating reports as requested. Administers all mobile devices and their corresponding or associated hardware and software.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described required. Industry certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA Network+, VCP, CISSP. etc. are highly desired.
  • A minimum of six years in an IT/Networking/Communication related field is required. Must have experience working within a holistic cybersecurity program. Experience managing and/or administering Microsoft 365, Azure resources, and related technologies are a plus. Experience working in the utility industry or with administering NiSC iVUE enterprise software is beneficial.
