Job Details
The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors:
Diagnose the source of trouble and determine the extent of repairs required
Replace worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts
Grind and adjust valves; rebuild carburetors; overhaul transmissions; and repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems
Required Skills and Experience
Four to six years of relevant Mechanic experience
In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent
Must have personal tools for this position
US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain base access
Must be able to pass a criminal pre-employment background check and drug screening
Desired Skills and Experience
MRAPS, M-ATVs and JLTV/HUMVEE Mechanic experience.
