Role Summary:
We are seeking a Developer IV to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina, to engage in the analysis, design, programming, and implementation of complex application tasks and projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions that align with business and IT strategies. This role requires a minimum of six years of experience in application development and systems testing, with a strong proficiency in COBOL, DB2, and mainframe environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify complex systems and software from analysis to implementation.
- Maintain and enhance application software ensuring delivery within budget and timelines.
- Collaborate closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support post-implementation, as well as in system enhancements.
- Lead and mentor junior programmers and analysts, and act as an internal consultant on complex projects.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Comprehensive understanding of applications/development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies in various environments.
- Proficient in programming languages relevant to the company's platform.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team-building capability.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant application development and systems testing experience.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Alternatively, 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate s degree.
Technologies:
- Required: COBOL, DB2, Mainframe
- Nice to Have: Native CICS, IMS DB
