Painter/Carpenter


Job Details

The Construction Services team at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter/Carpenter to join our team. This candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to both painting and carpentry work. This individual must have a strong attention to detail, excellent craftsmanship, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Responsibilities include

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding and patching holes and cracks
  • Apply paint and other finishes to various surfaces with brushes and rollers
  • Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, installing trim, doors, windows and cabinetry
  • Repair and replace damaged woodwork, drywall and other building materials
  • Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions using hand and power tools
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety and functionality of facilities
  • Maintain an inventory of painting and carpentry supplies
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with other facilities team members to prioritize tasks and complete projects in a timely manner
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned, as needed


Minimum Requirements

  • experience as facilities Painter/Carpenter or similar role
  • in either painting or carpentry techniques or both
  • knowledge of painting materials and techniques in a commercial environment
  • attention to detail and precision
  • to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver s license


Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational Training or apprenticeship is a plus
