Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)The Senior Manager Systems Management is responsible for implementation, configuration, maintaining, supporting, and ongoing monitoring of Data Analytics environments encompassing the Infrastructure, Application and User perspectives. They are responsible for managing other administrators to support data analytics systems. Additionally, they will address the needs of data analytics users and processes, incident avoidance, as well as trending, predictive and ensure contractually required SLAs/KPIs are met.Will work closely with other teams to adhere to ITIL/DevOps best practices, ensuring the highest quality system experiences possible for internal and external customers. This position is a key resource that focuses on managing data analytics tools to deliver valuable services to our customers and enable us to successfully execute on contracts. The role may have some externally facing project / client engagements supporting their SAS environments.You ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:Implement and configure data analytics infrastructure and applicationsSAS Viya 3.5/4.0 managementSAS Grid 9.4 managementEnsure system availability and proper monitoring is in placeRespond when required when issues occur (afterhours if necessary)Analyze data/logs/trends and provide strategic recommendations around end-to-end system improvements from Infrastructure to Systems to Data to end user tools, resulting in improved and successful contract outcomesUnderstanding of Scripting Languages such as PowerShell / Python and use of cron jobsUse Ansible Playbooks to maintain data analytics environmentTroubleshoot, proactively identify data analytic solutions, and drive resolution of complex system/process problems and issuesEnsure SLA tracking, reporting and communications are in placeMaintain good working relationships across IT, the businesses and with IT vendorsUse automation to improve availability and management of environmentEnsure system compliance and vulnerability/patch managementMaintain production and lower-level environmentsDesign and manage migrations to new systemsFacilitate the creation and maintenance of production monitoring requirements to include Vital Business Functions, thresholds for automated incident creation, automated alerts, and notificationsDocument environment and ensure compliance with government contractsWork as liaison/relationship manager between other monitoring/reporting organizations across divisions, departments, and teams we provide IT services in collaboration withTroubleshooting and resolving SAS infrastructure issues (configuration, performance, stability)Performing Root Cause Analysis for Production issues and remediate issues as requiredConsultant for externally facing project work when necessaryYou ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or another related fieldUndergraduate degree or equivalent experience Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience8+ years of experience in each of the following areas:SAS Viya administration / installation / configuration / tuningSAS Grid Administration / installation / configuration / tuningAdministrating LinuxFull life-cycle software development experienceInfrastructure, or desktop technology or helpdesk or systems support experienceExperience providing stable business systems to meet customer/business needs 1+ years of ITIL or other ITSM related framework or discipline experienceStaff management experienceKubernetes AdministratorLinux AdministratorExcellent understanding of business operations and their related dependencies on IT systems for executing our contracts successfullyUnderstanding of end-to-end system dependencies (Infrastructure, System, Data, Telecom, Desktop, Mobile) to the resulting contract outcomesExcellent grasp of the technical fundamentals of software development and be able to work within complicated IT systems to plan projectsComfortable making timely suggestions in times of crisis management and escalating alerts appropriately across the organization in an effort to sustain minimal impact to customersProficient Microsoft Software Suite skillsBe able to work and manage vendors and other contractorsPreferred Qualifications:ITIL or other ITSM framework certificationExperience creating performance dashboardsExperience with DOD/VA/MilitaryFamiliar with AWS/Azure for cloud enablementCommunications skillsProven analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent interpersonal skills including the ability to present, persuade and provide professional presentation materials to both large and small groupsTo protect the health and safety of our workforce, patients and communities we serve, UnitedHealth Group and its affiliate companies require all employees to disclose COVID-19 vaccination status prior to beginning employment.
