The **Kitchen Program Assistant** is responsible for preparing nutritionally balanced meals for the clients of Weinberg Housing and Resource Center and perform duties of Program Assistant when needed. The Kitchen Program Assistant provides services to guests/clients in a dignified and respectful manner. Sets a positive example of courteous and concerned behavior towards others.
**Schedule:**
* Weekends/Holidays 12 am 8 am
**Program Summary**
The Weinberg Housing and Resource Center is a low-barrier emergency shelter that provides homeless services to over 275 adult men and women each night in the City of Baltimore. Our services include shelter, convalescent care, breakfast and dinner, showers, laundry, case management and a variety of life skills and empowerment classes with a focused goal of assisting residents in obtaining permanent housing.
**The Kitchen Program Assistant responsibilities:**
* The Kitchen Program Assistant is responsible for preparing nutritionally balanced meals for the clients of Weinberg Housing and Resource Center.
* Perform duties of Security Program Assistant when needed.
**The Kitchen Program Assistant requirements:**
* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Food Service Manager Education and Serve Safe Certification is preferred. Must receive Serve Safe Certification within 6 months.
* Must be physically capable or moving throughout the building and grounds including stairs, and lift 50 pounds.
* Must be able to stand 90% of the shift. Must be able to work in Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
* Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekend and holidays. One year of food preparation experience in an institution dietary department or one year dietary experience or dietary certificate and knowledgeable of Health Department codes/standards
