**Description**

CHD is seeking experienced care givers to provide direct support to two adults living in an intensive residential setting. The individuals served live with developmental disabilities and present co-occurring challenging behavioral issues. Support Specialists provide residents with opportunities to maximize independence, community engagement and rehabilitation while assisting with activities of daily living, administering medication, and informal counseling.

**Requirements** Ideal candidates will have at least two years of strong community-based human service experience with a similar population, the ability to provide structure, support and physical redirection, empathy for others and a commitment to those with significant needs. Must have a vehicle available for work purposes as well as ability to complete agency-sponsored first aid, CPR and medication administration training. CPI or other training in managing difficult behaviors is strongly preferred.
