Combination Technician in Telecom


Job Details

The Combination Technician installs, tests, and repairs communication equipment such as public address and intercommunication systems, wired burglar alarms, switchboards, telegraphs, telephones, and related apparatus, including coin collectors, telephone booths, and switching keys. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Consistently demonstrates skill and abilities in cellular and telular installation and maintenance in assigned areas. -Proficiency at designing and troubleshooting special circuits when the need arises. -Demonstrates skills and abilities appropriate for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of outside plant equipment including, but not limited to public address and intercommunication systems, wired burglar alarms and all Key and PABX systems. -Performs installations on equipment according to layout plans and connects units with inside and outside service wires. -Proficient in the ability to examine mechanisms and disassembled components/parts and replace, clean, adjust or repair wires, switches, relays, circuits, or signaling units. -Operates and tests equipment to ensure elimination of malfunction. -Climbs poles to install or repair outside service lines. -Splices cable and cuts subscribers into new cable plant while maintaining accurate plant records of each cut. -Ensures that all safety, regulatory, and company policies, practices, and procedures are applied during all OSP work assignments. -Works on call as assigned.
