We are seeking an expert Director of Revenue Accounting for a leading professional services firm recognized for its leadership in the accounting and financial services sector across the Southeastern United States. This role reports directly to the CFO and is designed to contribute to the firm's continued growth and success. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of financial leadership experience, preferably from the professional services industry, and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in sectors such as CPA, law, accounting, engineering, or similar fields.

Our client has established a significant presence not only in central Mississippi and the northern Virginia/DC area but also maintains additional offices in Baton Rouge, Memphis, Nashville, and Houston. Catering to a diverse range of clients, from corporations to individuals, the firm is committed to delivering innovative solutions tailored to meet the financial and operational needs of their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead in developing and implementing strategic financial plans in collaboration with finance and executive teams, aligned with the firm s objectives.
  • Assess and ensure revenue recognition practices across entities comply with company policies.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to support sound fiscal decision-making.
  • Oversee financial analysis to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance on structuring revenue streams to optimize financial efficiency and benefit.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Focus on increasing efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting and preferably an MBA or MACC degree from a competitive academic institution.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is not mandatory but highly desired.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a professional service firm environment such as a law firm, accounting firm, engineering firm, construction firm or related industry.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficient understanding of revenue recognition principles, coupled with experience in handling complex revenue transactions.
  • Capability to guide complex revenue transactions, ensuring their accurate and timely recognition across diverse income streams.
  • A deep understanding of the dynamics within the professional services industry, including billing practices, client engagements, and partnership structures.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating revenue recognition practices into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

Compensation:

  • $150,000 - $190,000

Location:
