General Manager - Parks / Trails / Pathway Construction

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Parks, Trails, and Pathway Construction department. This includes overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of parks, trails, recreational facilities, and pathways. The General Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for the department, as well as managing the department's budget.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Parks and Recreation, or a related field. They will also have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the parks and recreation industry, with at least 3 years of experience in a management position. The candidate must be proficient in the use of GIS software and have a strong understanding of construction principles and practices. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities of the General Manager include:

  • Overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of parks, trails, and pathways
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the department
  • Managing the department's budget
  • Supervising staff and ensuring that they are meeting the department's goals
  • Working with other departments and agencies to ensure that the department's work is coordinated with other projects
  • Responding to public inquiries and complaints
  • Ensuring that the department is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
