Job Description **What Youll Do**

Responsible, under the supervision of the Administrator, to ensure that buildings, facilities and grounds of the District are maintained and operated in the most efficient, safest, and best possible condition at all times.

+ Opens the Wilson Talent Center and Evergreen Building (WTC) each day and performs all necessary opening custodial services in and around the building as determined by Supervisor including cleaning windows and maintaining lights inside and outside of the WTC.

+ Plans and oversees minor maintenance and repair work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

+ Maintains an inventory and recommends purchase of suitable supplies, tools, and equipment as applicable.

+ Receives and completes custodial work orders as requested.

+ Sets up meeting rooms for conferences, workshops and seminars within the WTC, and maintains these rooms during the day as well as the bathrooms.

+ Completes courier services as requested by supervisor, including but not limited to mail runs, shuttling materials between buildings and off-site deliveries.

+ Participates and assists in emergency drills and procedures.

+ Inspects building weekly, more often if necessary, and confers with Supervisor and Principals regarding custodial work and safety concerns.

+ Performs any regular custodial service and/or minor maintenance service including assisting maintenance people, in the WTC as needed during his/her shift.

+ Works with Facilities Specialist to lead WTC team in regular work activities as well as during summer cleaning, renovation projects and all other assigned duties. This includes setting up the schedules for the summer cleaning program, as well as other projects as assigned.

+ Works with Facilities Specialist to develop a program of cleaning and refinishing floors.

+ Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, parking lots, driveways, and play areas neat, clean and free of debris at all times.

+ Shovels, plows, salts and/or sands walks, and steps as appropriate.

+ Checks daily to ensure that all doors and panic bolts are working properly.

+ Performs grounds work as assigned by Supervisor.

+ Assists at other buildings and fills in for other Head Custodians as needed.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Need to Have**

+ High school or equivalent education.

+ Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

+ Must be able to climb ladders, lift moderately heavy equipment, operate custodial and grounds equipment and drive a tractor

+ Basic computer skills, including but not limited to the ability to use finance software, electronic mail and work order system.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills in working with people and interacting with the public.

+ Ability to keep records and do minor analytical work.

+ Customer service oriented and motivated to provide quality work at all times.

+ Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

**Working Conditions**

Work performed in a variety of settings including office, classroom, workshop environments, outside in unpleasant weather, and on roof or around potentially dangerous power equipment, electricity, gas, and water pressure. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items up to 50 lbs, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, standing, climbing, walking, kneeling, crouching, balancing and/or crawling. Position also requires hand strength to run equipment and fine finger dexterity. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise.
