Surveyor/Drafter Technician


Job Details

The successful Surveyor Drafter Technician will work closely with a team of Facilities professionals measuring and tracking office space, and developing drawings to meet facility stewardship goals such as optimized space planning, mandated reporting, support ticket management, and facility metrics. This position is on-site at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities:

    • Survey and Update Space Partition Plan CAD Drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit using BOMA standards.
    • Coordinating field surveys and measurement of building space as required for newly constructed buildings, space renovations or annual field surveys.
    • Responding to requests to update existing space drawings and room number assignments.
    • Receiving marked up redlined drawings of existing space drawings and updating space partition drawings.
    • Updating new space data records for property, buildings and rooms based upon newly renovated space, newly constructed buildings, or new acquisition of space.
    • Reviewing and updating Space assignments accordance to Client's Policy and procedures Triaging Help Desk tickets.
    • Update and maintain Space Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
    • Creating room number plans in accordance with Client's Policy and Procedures.
Qualifications:
    • Experience in AutoCAD 2019, and earlier Architectural desktop.
    • Experience in Revit Architecture 2019 is preferred.
    • Experience with CAFM (i.e. ARCHIBUS, Nuvolo) applications is preferred.
    • Demonstrate a minimum of 1-3 years using AutoCAD to manage facility drawings and associated data with a BS degree in a related field, or 3+ years of directly related experience in lieu of degree.
    • Experienced in AutoCAD facility production work and experienced in the development and maintenance of AutoCAD drawing management standards, including applying BOMA standards.
    • Experienced in using measuring devices such as Measuring tape and electric measuring devices.
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Able to multi-task.
