POSITION DESCRIPTION

Childers Architect is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Construction Administrator with an expertise in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout all project phases.


The Construction Administrator will be responsible for monitoring contracts, preparing progress reports, coordinating schedules, and acting as a liaison between our firm, contractors and client representatives. The ideal candidate will visit project sites and document the construction progress with field reports and meeting minutes, as well as facilitating the flow of construction related information in our office.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance/Quality Control: Develop and implement QA/QC procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and building codes. Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor construction activities and materials for quality and adherence to design documents.


Construction Administration: Oversee and manage the construction phase, conducting site visits and ensuring that the construction aligns with approved plans and specifications. Collaborate with the project team, including architects, contractors, and consultants, to resolve construction-related issues promptly.


Document Review: Review and approve contractor submittals. Evaluate Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide timely responses to address design-related questions during construction.


Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of construction activities, inspections, and QA/QC processes. Generate regular reports on construction progress, issues, and resolutions for project stakeholders.



REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor s degree in Architecture or Construction Science/ Management or related field preferred

Software: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Newforma, and PowerPoint) and project or construction

management software


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

10-15 years of experience

Thorough knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, methods, and best practices

Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Exceptional organization, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills

Well-versed in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
