Purpose and Scope:

Direct the overall operations of the finance department to ensure financial goals of the property are met or exceeded

Oversee expenditures to ensure that they are administered within the guidelines outlined in the annual business plan or other directives as they are developed


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the income cycle including income audit, F&B outlets, and retail areas
  • Review financial statement for timeliness, accuracy and completeness
  • Review daily revenue, weekly payroll and overtime reports for timeliness, accuracy and follow up
  • Review food cost reports for timeliness, accuracy and completeness
  • Utilize systems and controls to ensure that the financial goals of the company are met or exceeded
  • Implement internal controls where necessary and investigate deviations in order to safeguard the assets of the company
  • Prepare monthly variance report from budget, by interfacing with department heads to determine the causes of variances, and identify areas for improvement
  • Act as a liaison between the accounting department and operational departments. Train, coach and mentor department heads to be financially successful
  • Ensure/prepare all requested or assigned reports are completed on time.
  • Assist in preparation of the budget process
  • Act as an ambassador of the property/company at all times
  • Employ a hands-on, open door style of leadership that reflects core value of company
  • Use effective and professional communication to ensure that the department functions properly and employee partners interface with one-another for effective execution in planning and operations
  • Provide any additional support to the CFO and Accounting team as business needs dictate, as well as any additional job assignments and/or special projects assigned by the CFO


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting/finance. Minimum five years accounting management experience in hospitality or related industry
  • Must possess strong leadership and communication skills
  • Preferred experience with ADP Workforce Now, InfoGenesis, ProfitSword, Agilysys, Visual One, Adaco, Labor Management systems and strong knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Proficient with Uniform System of Accounts and Lodging Industry
  • or Executive Committee
