Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Toxic Tort Attorney to join our growing team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on high-profile cases, develop your career, and make a significant impact in the complex toxic tort & environmental industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in handling toxic tort or asbestos cases. You must have a passion for justice, a commitment to client service, and a strong understanding of the legal and scientific complexities involved in toxic tort law.
Responsibilities
- Representing clients who have been exposed to toxic substances, especially asbestos, and have suffered health complications as a result.
- Conducting extensive research to build strong, evidence-based cases.
- Drafting, reviewing, and filing legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
- Negotiating settlements with opposing counsel, insurance companies, and other parties.
- Advocating for clients in court, presenting evidence, and arguing cases persuasively.
- Staying up-to-date on the latest developments in toxic tort law and science to provide clients with the best possible representation.
- Collaborating with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and other professionals to ensure all case-related tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Providing clients with regular updates on their case status and answering their questions in a clear, compassionate manner.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Permanent Toxic Tort Attorney position, you must meet the following qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California state bar.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in toxic tort law, with a focus on asbestos cases.
- Proven track record of successfully representing clients in toxic tort cases.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
- Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
- Ability to handle a large caseload and work under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
- Familiarity with the scientific concepts related to toxic exposure and related health effects.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
