Job Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for providing the Quality Department technical support, such as performing quality tasks and documentation. This person will be a resource for the Quality Department.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Quality Technician consist of but are not limited to :

Part Inspection Development and Maintenance:

Generate bubble prints, inspection plans, and other quality documents for new and existing products.

•Utilize precision measuring instruments and equipment to verify conformance to specifications.

•Assist in development of new inspection methods, processes, and training.

Documentation and Reporting:

•Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection and test results per customer requirements.

•Prepare quality reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action requests (CARs).

•Ensure proper documentation and traceability in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 13485 standards.

Quality Assurance and Control:

•Monitor and enforce quality control processes and procedures.

•Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

•Support internal and external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and facilitating audit processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

•Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality issues.

•Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding quality performance and improvement initiatives.

•Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and procedures.

Continuous Improvement:

•Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.

•Contribute to the development and revision of quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

General:

•Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

•2 year degree or work experience in place of education requirement.

•1 year of experience in relevant manufacturing/quality support role.

•Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.

•ASQ certification (e.g., CQI, CQT) is desirable but not required.

Competencies

•Strong understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis techniques.

•Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

•Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•Familiarity with quality management software and ERP systems (Epicor or other) is preferred.

•Proficient in various computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

•Dexterity with computers - the ability to type and use a mouse.

•Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

•Must be able to meet customer demand requirements for performing visual inspection and/or other product acceptance activities with or without accommodation (only for positions in which this is a requirement of the job per the customer requirement).

•Ability to pass an annual vision test.
