Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Sheet Metal Washer / Assembler. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY location. The core hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $18.32 per hour.

- Perform all required duties to clean and prepare various types of metal castings and sheet metal surfaces for spot welding, acromatic and heliarc welding, brazing, etc.
- Perform various sheet metal operations using materials such as aluminum, bronze, brass, iron, steel, etc. and metal working equipment such as saw, shears, circle shears, bending brakes, hand or power roll formers, punch press, drill press
- Run parts to be cleaned through series of acid dips and wash to obtain uniform bright dip on materials not to be painted. Place materials in baskets and immerse in series of cleaning, alkaline, acid and rinse baths using raveling hoist. Use care to see that entire surfaces are covered by solutions and to avoid excessive crowding of materials in baskets
- Make simple setups, minor adjustments and set stops on sheet metal equipment; assist with more complex setups as directed.
- Operate forklift truck or use hand truck to move material within the department and to or from other departments or storage areas as directed.
- Make minor adjustments to valves or alter strength of solutions as instructed.
Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered.
- A minimum of six (6) months of forklift operation experience.
Preferred qualifications: - Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
