Program Statement:

Lorain County Help Me Grow Home Visiting Program is a voluntary program that gives pregnant women and families the necessary resources and skills to raise children who are physically, socially, and emotionally healthy to learn. The goals of the program are to:

1. Improve maternal and child health.

2. Prevent child abuse and neglect.

3. Encourage positive parenting; and

4. Promote child development and school readiness.

What You Will Do:

  • Complete required Home Visitor credential certificate training. Provided by Catholic Charities.
  • Build relationships with families to assess their strengths and needs. Connect families to community resources.
  • Participate in ongoing recruitment outreach activities and events to promote programming and engagement of families.
  • Accurately document in a state-wide database of services provided including billing.
  • Regularly attend professional development trainings and meetings.


What You Need:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience working with or providing direct service to children and families
  • Acceptance of individual differences
  • Cultural Humility
  • Knowledge of Infant and Child Development
  • Reflective Capacity
  • Infant Mental Health Endorsement, Preferred
