The Director of Brand and Digital Marketing plays a leading role in the development and daily management of the Greater Chicago Food Depository s brand and marketing strategies and plans while overseeing the organization s digital communications. This role oversees the execution of digital and data-driven marketing strategies that drive desired actions and conversions among key audiences. This person also plays a leading role in maintaining the Food Depository s brand identity and awareness of the organization. This role reports to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and will work closely with other members of the Marketing & Communications team to guide the Food Depository s biggest marketing projects, including branding, advertising, cause marketing and digital communications. This role works collaboratively with the Individual Giving team to co-create annual plans to integrate marketing strategy in support of fundraising goals. The Director of Brand and Digital Marketing is a supervisory role with direct reports.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Director of Brand and Digital Marketing include but are not limited to the following:

Partner with the VP of Marketing & Communications on brand strategy, leading the development of well-integrated general market and targeted marketing campaigns.
Own the management of relationships with advertising and website services agencies.
Own the development and execution of digital marketing strategies to drive impactful conversions among the Greater Chicago Food Depository s target audiences.
Own monitoring, reporting and utilization of insights and digital analytics to inform marketing strategies, including a formal quarterly assessment with recommendations for optimization.
Accountability for protecting the Greater Chicago Food Depository brand image. Ensure correct and consistent use of the brand and voice in marketing efforts, including approved applications by Food Depository departments and external partners.
Supervise the Marketing Manager and Marketing Specialist.
Oversee the Marketing Manager in the development of cause marketing strategies and execution.
With support from the Marketing Specialist, own the content strategy for the Food Depository s websites and social media channels.
Collaborate with the individual giving team in the strategy and creative review processes for the Food Depository s direct mail and digital fundraising programs.
Build functional expertise in identity-based marketing, best-in-class digital media, messaging and loyalty solutions, personalized messages at scale that grow real supporter relationships and impact.
As needed, assist the Marketing & Communications team with writing, event staffing and other projects.

Qualifications

Four-year college degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
7+ years of experience in marketing and communications for a nonprofit organization, business or institution.
Ability to be in office 3 days a week; Tue, Wed, and Thursday
Supervisory experience.
Strong awareness of branding and marketing best practices.
Strong awareness of digital marketing, analytics and website best practices.
The ability to balance multiple priorities and support several large projects at once.
Passion for our mission and the people we serve.
A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for working with diverse groups of people.
Competency in Adobe Creative Suite software, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Competency in website content management systems and social media monitoring software.
