Summary
Our client, a leading IT Solutions Company (aka MSP) in Round Rock, TX, is seeking an IT Engineer - Level II with a specialization in Help Desk Support. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing top-tier support to clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues from the help desk team, providing Level III support and guidance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software problems for desktops, laptops, servers, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Collaborate with Level I and Level II engineers to provide training, mentorship, and technical assistance as needed.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, including Windows servers, Active Directory, and network infrastructure.
- Participate in pre- and post-sales activities, including technical assessments, solution design, and client consultations.
- Document support interactions, resolutions, and best practices to improve team efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to provide proactive support and recommendations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT engineering roles, with a focus on help desk support and escalation management.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and common enterprise software applications.
- Well versed in designing and deploying Windows Servers and various firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and ITIL best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly desirable.
Ideal Qualifications (not required)
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Advanced certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure.
