About

We're Castle, a 20-person, profitable startup dedicated to enhancing the trust and safety of users across large consumer platforms like Canva, Atlassian, and Rockstar Games. We're backed by Y Combinator, Index Ventures, as well as prominent angel investors from Datadog, Stripe, and New Relic.

As our Operations Manager, you'll be the jack-of-all-trades we rely on to keep our startup running smoothly. You'll dive into a variety of tasks, from playing a critical role in shaping our vibrant company culture to owning our financial operations and organizing team lunches and company offsites. If you're eager to wear many hats and make a tangible impact every day, this is the perfect role for you.

We're a distributed team with hubs in NYC (US), Cracow (Poland), and Malmo (Sweden). We prefer candidates who can work out of our Williamsburg office a couple of days a week, especially during ramp-up, but we are flexible.

Responsibilities
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and collaborative company culture. Manage the employee journey from start to finish, handling benefits and ensuring a seamless transition for all team members. Lead the performance reviews, setting up salary and career paths for fair employee development.
  • Handle daily financial tasks like tracking expenses, managing payroll, and overseeing vendors. Work closely with our external accounting firm to ensure accuracy.
  • Handle administrative tasks like booking travel, planning team lunches, organizing offsites, managing calendars, and handling office logistics. Your attention to detail and proactive approach are crucial for the smooth functioning of our day-to-day operations.

Qualifications
  • A startup mindset flexibility, agility, and adaptability. We are passionate about limiting work-in-progress and deeply value work/life balance, but in this fast-paced startup environment, you'll be expected to pivot between pre-sales, post-sales, and support regularly
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field with 3-5 years of experience in operations, HR, or a similar role.
  • Dedicated to enhancing the employee experience and cultivating inclusivity in the workplace.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to handle multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and achieve results.
  • Proficient in financial principles and practices, with expertise in expense management, payroll, and vendor management.
