Job Purpose:

The Global Head of Legal is a senior leadership position within the ETAP organization and is responsible for overseeing all legal matters throughout the ETAP group.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards by ETAP s operations across the world.

Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to mitigate legal risks and promote ethical conduct.


2. Corporate Governance:

Advise the executive team and board of directors on corporate governance matters, including board structure, governance policies, and regulatory requirements.

Ensure adherence to corporate governance best practices and facilitate effective communication between management and the board.


3. Contract Management:

Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of various contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with the company's interests and risk mitigation strategies.


4. Litigation and Dispute Resolution:

Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes, including engagement with external counsel when necessary.

Develop strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and cost-effectively while protecting the company's interests.


5. Intellectual Property:

Protect and enforce the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets.

Develop strategies to safeguard intellectual property assets and prevent infringement.


6. Mergers and Acquisitions:

Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.


7. Regulatory Affairs:

Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the group's operations and advise management on regulatory compliance issues.

Engage with regulatory authorities and industry groups to influence regulatory developments and advocate for the group s interests.


8. Risk Management:

Identify and assess legal risks facing the group and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.

Collaborate with other departments, such as risk management, finance, and compliance to implement risk mitigation measures.


9. Leadership:

Ensure the effective delivery of legal services and manage relationships with external legal service providers.


Qualifications and Experience:

Degree from an accredited law school and admitted to the bar in the US.

Extensive experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate and commercial matters.

Proven track record of leadership and strategic thinking in legal roles, preferably in a multinational corporation.

Strong understanding of global legal and regulatory frameworks, with experience in multiple jurisdictions.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
