**Major Responsibilities**
* Analyzes, prepares, and reports monthly inventory transactions to ensure proper inventory valuation including but not limited to: LIFO, inventory capitalization, obsolescence and shrinkage, accounting for globally sourced product, and standard cost.
* Prepares assigned monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and PBCs.
* Prepares reports and documentation to facilitate the Companys external audit process.
* Participates in the physical inventory and book to physical process including the identification and impact of all system and procedural changes.
* Develops the necessary tools through Hyperion/Essbase and other technology platforms to maximize department productivity and enhance current reporting capabilities.
* Reviews facility inventory adjustments and related cycle reports to resolve perpetual inventory errors.
* Analyzes and reports on discontinued inventory position and liquidation. Determines the obsolescence reserve requirement and recommend adjustments as needed.
* Maintains the LIFO, Inventory Capitalization, and Standard Cost models. Prepares and/or supports monthly projections of the total year adjustment for these P/L items.
* Participates in inventory systems design and special projects.
* Assists in improving internal controls over inventory accounting

**Skills/Knowledge Required**
* Solid understanding of accounting regulations (GAAP) related to inventory valuation
* Solid organizational skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent mathematical/computational and analytical skills.
* Ability to manage highly confidential matters.
* Ability to efficiently coordinate and prioritize work and manage projects.
* Knowledge of and proficient skills in the use of SAP, Hyperion database applications, presentation software packages, report writer tools, systems software, and MS Excel.
**Education and Experience**
* Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred
* 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.
