Work hours for this position: 8:30am to 5:30pm eastern standard time. This is a hybrid position promoting a healthy work/life balance.


Job Purpose

Correspondence Admin will be responsible and accountable for processing, maintaining, storing, and retrieving patient health information in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and accrediting agencies requirements.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sort and organize incoming mail correspondence.
  • Performs scanning of the paper health information record into the electronic health record following established guidelines.
  • Perform duties related to the receipt, intake, and indexing of health and administrative information.
  • Perform duties related to auditing and entering specific information for various correspondence.
  • Request or obtain documents from private healthcare providers or medical center.
  • Ensures that the medical records are organized, accurate, and complete.
  • Safeguarding patient records and ensuring that everyone complies with the HIPAA standards.
  • Documents patient accounts in a timely and consistent manner.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity and understanding of HIPPA medical privacy regulations and practices.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records filing.
  • Flexibility and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of the use of e-mail and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the use of standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, telephones, fax machines, and headsets.
