**Janitor II**

**Location:** Mason, MI, US

Perform a variety of cleaning, sanitation, and janitorial tasks that support the facility.

**Day to Day Role**

* Understand and comply with OSHA and facility safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out, respirator use, and any other safety profram required to perform job duties

* Routinely monitor safety practices and make adjustments when needed to avoid accidents

* Complete duties safely

* Duties may include one or more of the following:

+ Collect trash from production areas and empty containers

+ Vacuum, sweep and mop floors as instructed by Supervisor

+ Clean and sanitize production equipment and areas

+ Movement and rellocation of empty and full barrels

+ Tramp Oil collection (coolant service)

+ Bin fill requirements in each cell (filters, absorbents, spray cleaner, ect.)

+ Coolant changes

+ Assist simple maintenance responsibilities as instructed by Supervisor

* Use common hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches

* Operate PIT

* Provide efficient/timely service allowing production schedules to be met

* Promote good employee relations and high morale

* Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible

* Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

* All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager

**Core Skills & Qualifications**

**The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:**

* Experience operating various hand and power tools

* Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of fractions

* Demonstrate mechanical aptitude

* Basic computer skills

* Ability to operate PIT

* Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures

* Ability to meet safety and quality standards

* Ability to work independently

* Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues

**Preferred Skills & Qualifications**

* Prior janitorial experience

* Experience using cleaning equipment and tools

* Experience using cleaning chemicals and solvents

* Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
