**Painter II**
**Location:** Mason, MI, US
Position is responsible for the operation of all of the machinery and equipment in the paint area.
**Day-to-Day Role**
* *C*lean, prepare, and paint the manufactured parts per print and process sheet specifications
* Accurate inventory records of paint, solvents, chemicals, and equipment used in the paint area
* Set-up, operate, and cleanup of equipment and tools necessary to perform paint and prep operations including use of hand and power tools, fork trucks, overhead cranes, paint spray system, lubricants, solvents, and measuring instruments and gages
* Understand and comply with all safety regulations and procedures including OSHA and MIOSHA standards for respirator use and certification, documenting the use of all chemicals and paints and keeping accurate records of use in the paint area
* Complete projects/assignments in a timely manner with little or no supervision
* Promote good employee relations and high morale
* Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible
* Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
* All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager
**Core Skills & Qualifications**
**The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:**
* Two (2) years experience as a painter/prep person in auto body or related paint field using electro-static or conventional painting system
* Must complete respirator physical and be respirator certified to work in the paint area
* Working knowledge of paints, primers, solvents, chemicals, and painting equipment
* Read and interpret prints, spec sheets, process sheets, special instructions
* Understand the paint and prep processes
* Able to operate a crane and a fork truck
