Building Services Technician


Job Details

The Building Services Technician will be responsible for monitoring nightly building closing as well as performing on demand WOs and scheduled PMs, inspections. Much of the on demand work to be performed will be requests that can not be completed when building is occupied during business hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Daily building closure (building rounds, turn off lights, secure entrances, set building alarm to active)

* On demand WOs (inclusive of work requests that can not or should not be done when DJJ employees in the building)

* Scheduled PMs and Inspections

Qualifications:

* Minimum of five to seven years mechanical experience, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

* Three to five years' maintenance experience

* Valid driver's license

* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos.

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations of customers, clients and other employees of the organization

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the Technician is regularly required to stand at eight-hour intervals with occasional scheduled breaks, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The individual frequently is required to climb stairs and ladders. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, at higher than chest level and be able to tolerate adverse rooftop working conditions due to climate and tolerate extreme temperature changes.
