Atlas is hiring a Certified Energy Manager. The position will require travel and can be based in any city in the United States. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support Atlas s Due Diligence Sustainability Services, including but not limited to Property Conditions/Capital Needs Assessments, Energy Audits, Energy Modeling, Utility Benchmarking, Utility Allowances, Demographic Analysis, Green Building Consulting, Greenhouse Gas Emission Assessments, Life-Cycle Assessments and other applicable Sustainability Services
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment including temperature control systems.
  • Strong experience and ability to conduct ASHRAE Level I II energy audits. Level III (Investment Grade) or Energy Performance Contract (EPC) experience a plus.
  • Ability to complete HUD Utility Schedule Model (HUSM), energy consumption model and actual consumption utility allowance studies.
  • Ability to complete utility benchmarking calculations for various building types. Experience with ENERGYSTAR Portfolio Manager.
  • Ability to perform energy modeling for multifamily residential, commercial, and industrial buildings using various modeling software.
  • Ability to write and generate project reports using provided templates and create new report templates as needed.
  • Ability to create data visuals (charts and graphs) to demonstrate project results.
  • Ability to identify precise utility rates through an understanding of utility rate structures and potential energy conservation measures for energy related projects.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Position will require travel, but can be worked remotely from any city in the United States.
  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or Energy Systems.
  • 3-5+ Years experience in completing energy related projects for commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation required. Additional Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) accreditations and/or other industry-recognized sustainability and energy related certifications a plus
  • Familiar with completing building assessment fieldwork, data organization, cost summaries and report development
  • Familiar with data analysis and data reporting strategies
Technical Requirements:
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient with computers: skilled in Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; database entry, reporting, and analysis; and internet research.
  • Strong working experience with utility rate structures, energy conservation measures, utility benchmarking, and aspect of various energy projects.
  • Strong working experience with various industry-recognized energy modeling software.
  • Knowledgeable of building systems and engineering principles.
Other miscellaneous qualities:
  • Must be able to coordinate and communicate extremely well with others, both on- and off-site. Communication within the project team should occur early and as often as possible.
  • Must have excellent time management, goal setting, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Willing to travel to conduct field observations and measurements of building systems on occasion
