As the Media & Entertainment Industry Analyst you will be responsible for analyzing emerging hardware and software, understanding new products, and evaluating workflows specific to the media and entertainment industry. This knowledge is then used to contribute to well-formatted content for Puget System s communication in the form of blog posts, social media, and in-person presentations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

30 days and ongoing:

  • Learns Puget Systems services, processes, procedures, and purpose, as well as its clients and its position in the industry.
  • Attends in-person new hire orientation and engages with meet-and-greets with all departments, acquiring knowledge about individual roles, understanding the organizational culture, workflow dynamics, overall business operations, and establishing initial connections for relationship-building.
  • Completes prerequisite training for new hires through the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Begins to learn about Puget Systems tools, budgets, and how to access necessary hardware.
  • Reviews KPIs to determine objectives, identify data sources, and begin to analyze trends.
  • Shows familiarity with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the department.
  • Becomes familiar with ClickUp as a tool used to manage tasks, projects, and collaboration within the company.
  • Becomes familiar with the test platform and assets system in order to begin testing the impact of hardware on industry-specific workflows.
  • Studies and/or creates Excel spreadsheets and templates to parse data from benchmark results and chart them using visual aids.
  • Becomes familiar with WordPress and publishing content using this tool.
  • Develops familiarity with Disqus for managing and facilitating comments on articles.
  • Utilizes LinkedIn as a site to review and study incoming information and to post outgoing articles/videos.
  • Engages in regular check-ins focused on the selected project to facilitate hands-on learning and foster a highly collaborative environment with the Labs supervisor.
  • With the Labs Supervisor, studies, then organizes and prioritizes the project backlog.
  • Anticipates and plans for upcoming projects by identifying key milestones and developing a comprehensive plan.
  • With the Labs Supervisor, reviews and discusses the article writing and publication process from start to finish.
  • Collaborates with Lab Supervisor to initiate and complete an industry-specific project, culminating in a written article.
  • Engages in a 30-day check-in with the Direct Manager, the People and Culture Manager, and the President to discuss progress, address concerns, and align goals.
  • During the onboarding period, will be required to work in-office full time


3 months and ongoing:

  • Engages in one-to-twice weekly check-ins with the Labs Supervisor to ensure comprehensive support and resources are provided for ongoing projects.
  • Engages in education and training, particularly when less familiar with specific software packages and workflows, by enrolling in relevant online courses.
  • Initiates and completes projects independently.
  • Supports collaborative department projects by contributing expertise, working with team members, and executing tasks to ensure the successful progression and completion of assigned projects.
  • Investigates industry trade shows or event calendars to identify upcoming topics and events of interest.
  • Investigates other social media platforms besides LinkedIn as appropriate and beneficial for community engagement.
  • Is an integral and fully contributing member of the team.


6 months and ongoing:

  • Effectively manages projects at an equivalent pace and level as the rest of the team.
  • Plans to attend a trade show or networking event to develop industry knowledge and connections.
  • Studies, analyzes, and writes posts and articles with complementary visual aids and publishes these on appropriate public-facing sites and social media platforms.
  • Implements a posting campaign on social media platforms aimed at engagement and community discussion.
  • Supports internal departments as a subject matter expert, assisting with client-specific issues or product development.
  • Compiles a training plan to grow familiarity with popular industry applications and workflows.
  • Attends mid-year check-in with the Direct Manager.


12 months and ongoing:

  • Expands industry-specific content beyond hardware analysis, showing a solid understanding of the industry and building confidence. Delves deeper into a specific software package or broadens the scope to include multiple software packages relevant to the industry.
  • Attends coaching and development sessions as part of the performance evaluation process, actively participating in discussions that assess effectiveness and contributions to performance development.
  • Is a trusted and respected member of the team.
  • Between 12-24 months:
  • Engages in progression discussions with Sales and Marketing Manager tailored to individual growth and development.


EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated experience in media/entertainment (i.e. video editor, motion graphics artist, VFX artist, etc.) required
  • Proficiency in video editing and motion graphics software packages such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and/or others required
  • Genuine passion for technology and the industry, coupled with the ability to effectively convey enthusiasm and inspire others with your vision for the future of technology within the industry required
  • Comfortable speaking, giving presentations, and fielding questions in front of large groups required
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong ability to work independently required
  • Effective collaboration skills and the ability to work seamlessly with others required
  • Demonstrated capability to absorb knowledge and information from diverse internal and external sources required
  • Ability to travel to office on regular basis for quarterly meetings and group events required
  • Willingness and ability to travel for industry events required
  • Experience with VFX software packages such as Houdini, Nuke, etc. highly preferred
  • Experience with PC and Apple hardware components and assembly highly preferred
  • Proficient in utilizing LinkedIn and other social media platforms to actively engage in community involvement highly preferred
  • Exceptional spelling and grammar proficiency highly preferred
  • Proficiency in creating compelling, informative, and engaging blog posts, articles, and other written content highly preferred
  • Google Slides and/or PowerPoint skills to create presentations highly preferred


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INCLUDE:

  • Annual salary of $72,800 - $93,600, based on skills and experience level
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision offered and covered at 75% by Puget Systems for the Employee s coverage
