ABOUT YOU

In the Temporary General Maintenance Utility role (Bargaining Unit Local No. 3), you are a skilled operator of light and heavy equipment, adept at maintaining cleanliness and safety across maritime properties. Your physical prowess enables you to remove debris, snow, and ice efficiently, while your attention to detail ensures thoroughness in all tasks. From setting up barriers to responding to spills, you handle diverse responsibilities with proactive initiative. Your commitment to routine maintenance and minor repairs guarantees the smooth operation of machinery and facilities. With a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills, you contribute significantly to the upkeep and functionality of the maritime environment, ensuring its optimal condition for all.

What you will do:

  • Drive and maneuver a variety of light and heavy equipment to maintain cleanliness and functionality.
  • Remove debris, snow, and ice from common areas, walkways, and parking areas.
  • Set up and manage jersey barriers as needed for safety and organization.
  • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative measures on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operation and appearance.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • Possess basic oral, written, and mathematical skills necessary for equipment operation.
  • Ability to communicate in standard English.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating machinery with 1-3 years of experience driving heavy equipment.
  • Hold a current and valid CDL Class B license, and Massachusetts Hoisting License 1C/2B.
