Warehouse I - Petaluma Job Details Level Entry Job Location Petaluma Store - Petaluma, CA Position Type Full Time Description At Friedmans Home Improvement, we strive to deliver the Human Side of Home Improvement. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Compare identifying information and counts. Weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
* Utilizes Inventory database software and handheld scan gun to track products and shipments
* Determines method of shipment
* Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons, inserts items into containers, posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage
* Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
* Routes items to departments
* Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
* Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
* Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
* Operates Forklift, Stock Picker, and manual or electric pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
* Ensures stocking area is prepared for incoming shipments
* Additional duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications **Education and/or Experience:**
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving or related experience and/or training preferred
**Computer Skills:**
* Knowledge of Database and Inventory software helpful

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus

* Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals (Prop 65); outside weather conditions including but not limited to working in hot weather temperatures exceeding 95 and vibration

This is a non-exempt position. Shifts are available in a multitude of full-time and part-time schedules according to a retail schedule of Sunday Saturday between 5:00am-9:00pm to meet business needs.
