Electrical Engineer


Job Details

IMC Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in designing electrical systems for commercial buildings. Candidates must have a working knowledge of building codes, must have strong communication skills, must be able to work independently, and must be able to design and administer the construction of multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in designing electrical systems for hospitals is preferred, but not required. Experience using Revit is preferred, but not required. Applicant will be tasked with the independent design and construction administration of electrical systems (primarily power, lighting, and fire alarm) for commercial, institutional, and municipal projects.


Applicants should have a love for solving problems, a desire to learn, and a strong work ethic. Applicants should be willing to ask questions and collaborate with senior staff, they should take pride in their work, and they should have an honest concern for the employees they work with and for the clients IMC works for.

Location and Travel: IMC is a Metairie-based firm that provides professional engineering services primarily for the Greater New Orleans Area and surrounding Parishes. Very few projects are located out of state or would require an overnight stay to visit a project site.

Profit Sharing: Company profits at the end of each year are shared with employees.

Vacation: Employees earn 1 week of vacation after 6 months, earn 2 weeks after the first year, and earn 3 weeks after being employed for 5 years.

Project Ownership: Our engineers are involved in projects from design through construction. Engineers are encouraged to take ownership of, and pride in, their designs, and they get to see the end-result of what they design.

Atmosphere: Team-oriented, with a collaborative approach to project design. Discussions on approaches to design issues are encouraged and lead to growth.
