Michelle s Bakery is looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Director of Sales to grow business out of our newest bakery start- up operation in Columbia, SC. Michelle s Bakery is a subsidiary of The H. T. Hackney Co., one of the nation s leaders in grocery wholesale distribution. Expanding out of our existing operation in Connelly Springs, NC, Michelle s Bakery is developing a new operation with several new product lines and huge potential for sales growth. With an established niche for made from scratch sweet snacks in the Convenience and Grocery channels, we are excited to expand into new product markets including donuts, brownies, cookies and more!

The successful candidate for this role must be a versatile, self-driven, and dedicated team player. They will be persistent and disciplined in growing business and ensuring our customers receive clear communication.

Job Responsibilities:

Cultivating business through cold calling new prospective wholesalers, distributors and direct customers within the convenience and grocery channels.

Serve as the primary contact for customers and sales reps within the defined region - communicating up to date information on new products, product/packaging changes, policies, etc.

Impact the company s bottom line by creating new leads and repeat customers.

Assist in compiling customer yearly forecasts and trends to drive production efficiencies and safety stock levels.

Provide the management team with recommendations to improve efficiency.

Stay updated on product knowledge, freight options and any changes in company policies.

Analyze, review, and understand current and prospective customers sales data to provide valuable input during negotiations on yearly contracts.

Research and understand competitor landscape.

Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients and work to establish a positive rapport with customers and teammates.

Provide customer information as needed to internal sales team.

Collaborate with operations on product development needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Company minded and team-oriented personality.

Sales experience required.

Persistent and disciplined approach to sales.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office -- Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able and willing to travel as needed to meet with customers. Overnight travel will be required, occasional weekends will be required due to customer tradeshow schedules.
