Job Purpose

The primary mission of this position is to lead activities related to equipment characteristic improvement for the Marysville Paint Department. This will be accomplished by performing true root cause analysis of top problems and implementing countermeasures.

The goal is to facilitate department S, Q, and D metric target achievement.



Key Accountabilities

Manufacturing Equipment Expert:

  • Equipment top problem root cause analysis and permanent countermeasure.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends related to equipment performance.
  • Identify improvement opportunities for Key Performance Indicators and for cost avoidance/elimination.
  • Become an expert in a specific area of automation technology (i.e. PLC, Motion Control, Robotics, etc ) Then, train associates on equipment or process changes.
  • Lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment. (Spare Parts, Procedures, PMs)
  • Project Management: Define and create scope of design and construction for renovation, upgrade of existing electrical systems, or for build of a new system with a focus on cost control. Conduct PDCA during design and implementation stage. Create, implement and maintain project schedules and achieve desired results.
  • Review, verify and approve electrical engineering drawings at the various design completion levels. Work with and manage contractors' activities throughout the different phases of a project.
  • New Technology: Use manufacturing expertise to support company s development of new processes.



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering experience
  • Ability to interact in a team environment



Working Conditions

  • Work at the spot, in the factory
  • 70% Office environment, 30% Production Floor environment
  • About 2 weeks of travel domestic and international and 300-500 hours of OT annually
  • This role requires that the candidate be able to drive and requires possession of a valid driver's license
