Advanced Personnel Resources is recruiting professionals for a new Backhaul Dispatcher position with our client located in Greensboro, NC.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary: 44,000-52,000

Position Summary:

As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the scheduling, routing, and monitoring of our drivers and their loads. You will ensure the timely and safe delivery of goods to our clients, while optimizing routes and maximizing cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to handle a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule the dispatching of drivers and their loads, ensuring optimal route planning and adherence to delivery schedules.
• Communicate with drivers, providing clear instructions and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
• Monitor driver progress, providing updates to clients and addressing any unforeseen issues or delays.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driver assignments, routes, and delivery status.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and information sharing.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize dispatch processes and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist in the training of new drivers, as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant college degree or certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a transportation dispatch role, preferably in the over the road trucking industry.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, route planning, and logistical best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS systems, and other relevant tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
