Job Details
The Director of Sales & Marketing is primarily responsible for leading & driving top line revenue strategy for group, volume transient & catering. The individual is additionally responsible for staying ahead of market trends, market share movement and ongoing competitive hotel analysis. The Director of Sales & Marketing is also responsible for developing and implementing a marketing communications plan designed to achieve the desired positioning for the hotel, as well as managing the sales and marketing budget that supports revenue attainment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Develop, implement, and monitor The LaFayette s Sales and Marketing plan.
- Direct sales, catering, marketing, and revenue optimization efforts for the hotel.
- Projects a positive image of the hotel and ownership in the market and engages in community building within the North Park and San Diego communities.
- Develop a sales pipeline for key market segments as identified in the Sales and Marketing Plan.
- Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring, and controlling the hotel s annual sales and marketing budget .
- Prepare and review revenue forecasts on a monthly basis in collaboration with the property General Manager .
- Collects and analyzes marketing data to determine hotel s position within the marketplace and takes responsibility for developing and implementing offerings and promotions and sourcing partnerships aligned with CH standards and guidelines.
- Maintains timely and effective communication with all hotel departments.
- Performs all other related duties/projects/reports as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience as a sales leader, with prior hotel sales experience.
- Experience in an Independent or Lifestyle hotel is preferred
- Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.
- Well rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources, as well as ability to develop a strategic plan for each.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate & drive a direct sales team
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
