We are looking for an Application Support Administrator. This is an on-site 6 (six) months contract to possible hire position in Durham/RTP North Carolina with our client. In this role as an Application Support Administrator, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and problem resolution, management of system resources, internal user performance, support and maintenance of all system environments, as required.

This position will collaborate with internal departments and with vendor-based consultants and services to coordinate and manage the design, development, implementation and on-going support of all assigned business applications.


Responsibilities for an Application Support Administrator:

  • Analyze business process issues and improvement opportunities and provide solution recommendations to the business and IT management
  • Document and assist users in defining business requirements, process maps and use cases
  • Investigate feature requests, clarify user requirements and objectives, understand software functionality and recommend appropriate solutions to improve business effectiveness and efficiency
  • Provide expert advice to the business in best use of all Enterprise systems modules and functionality
  • Verify data integrity, functional integrity testing and data maintenance
  • Ensure business applications comply with relevant standards and regulations
  • Work with Vendor(s) to document and ensure Disaster recovery capability
  • Code deployment and backup restoration on Development, Test and production environments
  • Enterprise system patch management and upgrade planning
  • Maintain system(s) in Regulatory compliance
  • Manage third party vendors to ensure uptime and performance of hosted systems
  • Support data exchange activities with interfaced systems
  • Partner with the various departments regarding proposed system related projects to develop an understanding of their business processes, assess end user needs and evaluate system related projects
  • Represent changes to assigned systems in the Change Control Boards for Enterprise systems as required
  • Ensure changes are managed under change control to ensure system remains in a state of validation compliance in line with site and corporate documentation, as well as, regulatory requirements
  • Utilize expertise of application features to recommend and facilitate solutions that meet business requirements and resolve questions related to process changes impacting applications
  • Investigate problems with Enterprise system modules, diagnose root causes and resolve issues
  • Provide ongoing system support, make decisions that best resolves product related issues and appropriately escalate issues that require IT and/or business management involvement
  • Develop and maintain documentation of applications, including process workflow diagrams, detailed business requirements and reports, etc
  • Support Audits and Periodic Review processes as required
  • Ensuring adherence to OLA s with the business and vendor SLA s


Required Skills as an Application Support Administrator:

  • 5+ years of experience with Enterprise systems
  • Experience working in a Regulated environment
  • Experience working in the Life Sciences industry is preferred
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methods
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to form effective relationships with the user community, IT colleagues and external vendors
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Experience developing documents for business requirements and process workflow diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with design to prototype process such as requirements generation, design reviews, implementation and validation of design
