Qualifications:
  • Minimum credential of a current Maine CADC required, LADC preferred
  • Knowledge of substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders - characteristics, assessment, and treatment.
  • Personal characteristics of maturity and professionalism with a sincere desire to work with recovering individuals.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing, e-mail, and Internet use.
  • Access to transportation

A licensed counselor for substance use disorder who is a key member of Wellspring's Intensive Outpatient team. These team members work closely in order to support each other in the work they do, and for group coverage as able. Care coordination includes emails, phone calls, and meetings with community supports and referral sources. Wellspring's Intensive Outpatient treatment team utilizes the Matrix IOP Model as primary group clinical interventions. Wellspring also uses concepts and philosophies or trauma-informed care in working with both clients and co-workers. Substance use disorder counselors assist clients in their recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders through counseling, education, role modeling, and empathetic trauma-informed support.
