Rate - $35-$40/HR on W2(without benefits)
Network Field Technician
We are currently seeking a Tier 2 IP Network Field Technician to join our team. As a Tier 2 IP Network Field Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IP and Communications infrastructure components, including wiring, routers, switches, wireless access points and other related technologies.
This is an onsite position that requires travel within the five boroughs of New York City and Westchester and Orange and Rockland to support infrastructure maintenance and support activities. The job locations will vary and may include substations, workout locations, and office buildings with varying access requirements. As the candidate, you will need to provide your own transportation, but only travel between job sites will be reimbursable.
Responsibilities:
Support network lifecycle equipment upgrade initiatives
Install, replace, support, and troubleshoot IP and Communications infrastructure components
Work closely with subject matter experts to proactively identify and resolve issues that affect the end-user experience
Review monitored system alerts and alarms and take appropriate actions when necessary
Maintain accurate documentation required to resolve issues, track progress in ServiceNow, and provide status update reports on all issues (opened, pending, resolved, etc.)
Support inventory management activities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
+5 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IP and Communications infrastructure components
Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS based routers, switches, Wireless APs as well as datacenter NX-OS based switches
Proficient with Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI) to perform tasks such as configuring, troubleshooting, and completing IOS upgrades
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols
Experience with wireless networking technologies and protocols
Experience with Cisco VoIP and Poly video conferencing technologies
Familiar with 66 Block and 110 Block cross connect procedures
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
