Operational leader responsible for coordination across CNH regarding camp programs in collaboration with Melwood/ Camp Accomplish or other organizations as appropriate. Develops schedules for each camp in partnership with medical leadership from each division that supports a camp and Melwood leadership. Ensures that all camp medical protocols are up to date and followed during camp. Supports camper registration process and screens campers to ensure their ability to safely participate in appropriate Camp Accomplish programs and activities. Collaborates with Melwood to support documentation required to obtain and maintain grant funding as appropriate.

Supports other hospital initiatives and program development as needed.QualificationsMinimum EducationBachelor's Degree In a health care, clinical or camp related discipline (e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Physical Therapy, Child Life, Recreational Therapy). (Required)Master's Degree (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience5 years of related health care / clinical or Camp experience (Required)2 years' management experience (Preferred)

Required Skills/KnowledgePrior experience working at camps for children with chronic health conditions.

Required Licenses and CertificationsLicense appropriate to specific clinical discipline (e.g RN, NP, LICSW etc) (Preferred)

Functional AccountabilitiesProgram Management & DevelopmentAssist in development, implementation and evaluation of services, programs, policies and procedures, and performance standards to achieve goals of the Camps including partnership with Melwood as needed.Collaborate on significant operational/issues/barriers with Melwood.Working in collaboration with the Enterprise Project Management Office, assists with leading other hospital initiatives and program development as needed.Budget and Financial ManagementPrepare documentation and projections to support the operating and capital budget planning process for the CNH collaboration with Melwood for Camps.Evaluate and recommend purchase of new equipment needed to maximize productivity and quality of care at Camp.Monitor CNH camp expenses, monthly performance reports and budget variances and resolve discrepancies as needed.Work collaboratively with Melwood s Fund Development team as needed for funding initiatives.Support ongoing compliance with grant and donor requirements and submit required documentation in a timely manner.SafetyDevelop clear protocols for handling medical issues, accidents, and illnesses during the camp in coordination with Melwood. Ensure all medical staff members are aware of these protocols and are trained to follow them.Prepare for various medical scenarios, including sudden illness outbreaks.Plan logistics for check-ins during camp for health screenings / medications.Ensure camp follows safety protocols including timely care and reporting of incidents impacting patients or staff.Liaison with pharmacy and medical staff to ensure appropriate medication management at camp.Ensure compliance with current DOH and other relevant regulatory /safety requirements.Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation.Speak up when team members appear to exhibit unsafe behavior or performance.Stop in the face of uncertainty and takes time to resolve the situation.Demonstrate accurate, clear and timely verbal and written communication.Actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors and co-workers.Attend carefully to important details - practicing Stop, Think, Act and Review in order to self-check behavior and performance.Camp OperationsContinue to create new and deliver existing camp programs to serve patients and families. Create a year-round calendar of camp programs in coordination with the Melwood Camp Accomplish Team.Provide on-site support of day-to-day operations when Camp Accomplish is in session (up to 8 weeks each summer); troubleshoot clinical issues and develop action plans to resolve.Ensure appropriate medical and nursing staff coverage is arranged in advance for each week of camp.Ensure required camp clinical documentation adheres to American Camping Association accreditation guidelines.Liaison with Melwood with Camper database/registration process (consent form, releases, etc).Work with Melwood to ensure all required clinical documentation from Campers is received in advance of camp (e.g. health histories, medication lists etc).Support with Melwood and CNH Marketing in creation and distribution of general and individual camp marketing materials (Flyers, Website updates etc).Work with medical and child life staff to inform about camp opportunities and recruit campers.Help plan and deliver Melwood and CNH staff training sessions involving medical components.Coordinate CNH medical/education program components during the camp.Organizational AccountabilitiesChange ManagementEnergize stakeholders and sustain commitment to change in approaches, processes and strategies.Maintain a positive environment during the course of change, remaining alert to issues.Use analysis, judgment, and experience to identify the root causes of problems and develop appropriate strategies to resolve.Organizational Commitment/IdentificationPartner in the mission and upholds the core principles of the organization.Committed to diversity and recognizes value of cultural ethnic differences.Demonstrate personal and professional integrity.Maintain confidentiality at all times.Customer ServiceAnticipate and responds to customer needs; follows up until needs are met.Teamwork/CommunicationDemonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior.Partner with all team members to achieve goals.Receptive to others ideas and opinions.Performance Improvement/Problem-solvingContribute to a positive work environment.Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to change.Identify opportunities to improve clinical and administrative processes.Make appropriate decisions, using sound judgment.Use resources efficiently.Search for less costly ways of doing things.Primary Location
