Job Details
We are seeking an Purchasing Assistant for clients of ours in Chino and Pomona, CA. The ideal candidate must have construction industry experience, and is responsible for managing assigned suppliers to meet customer demand at the lowest cost and lead-time while managing inventory levels. Actively identifies and addresses issues in the supply chain to insure all requirements are met as well as drive continuous improvement of key metrics including delivery to customer requirements, cost, lead-time, inventory turns and quality.
Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
Pay: 19.00-25.00/hour
Location: Chino and Pomona, CA
Responsibilities:
- Negotiating and purchasing materials, equipment, and/or services from suppliers
- Prepares and evaluates supplier quotations and services to determine most competitive solution based on total cost of ownership
- Familiar with a variety of purchasing concepts, practices, and procedures
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Leads complex sourcing projects and supplier performance reviews
- Performs a variety of complicated procurement tasks
Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain is preferred
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in purchasing related to construction/home building sectors
- Purchasing experience in manufacturing and/or wholesale is preferred
- Strong negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
