Description

Position Summary

The Professional Level 5 (PL5) Hardware Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions.
  • Test hardware conformance to specifications.
  • Perform analyses at all levels of system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex technical problems.
  • Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product.
  • Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
  • Contribute to the development of technical proposals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during proposal reviews.


Requirements

Formal Education & Certification
  • Bachelor of Science with 25 years of experience, or Master of Science with 23 years, or PhD with 20 years
  • Active TS/SCI with CT poly
  • Thorough understanding of RF theory, electro-optics, and/or signal processing.
  • Vendor/Customer relations and negotiation skills/experience.
